5 Easy Ways to Save Money/Get Coupon Codes!

Being a student and trying to save money is hard! Trust me! But I have found a few ways to save money and I’d like to share! You don’t need to give up social events or shopping if you want to live on a budget. These tips will help you save for when you do need to make purchases:

1. Sign up for free on E-BATEShttp://www.ebates.com/rf.do?referrerid=wacvqmdAs61WnQlI%2BTpk5Q%3D%3D&eeid=28187

Search for any online store and see if they have discounts available
You get cash back after purchases (so they pay you for shopping!)

Right now they have an 8% cash back off at Sephora.com etc. That means if you buy your makeup online at Sephora through Ebates, you will get an 8% cash back from your order! Say if a makeup product was $100 on Sephora, you would get $8 from E-bates! It adds up! So don’t buy in store.

2. Get Uber and Lyft apps on your phone and get your first ride for free!

  • Lyft $50 promo code: SHREE770673
  • Uber $10 promo code: shreep298ue

3. Sell your stuff on Poshmark!
– Sell what you aren’t wearing or using anymore. You can sell your clothes on your phone on Poshmark, or even trade some clothes with other sellers.

4. Coupon codes on retailmenot.com
– Besides online savings, you can save money shopping in stores by looking through this website first to see if they have any coupon codes to enter during checkout! It’s free and you don’t need to sign up!

5.  Access student discounts!
– If you are a student, take advantage of your ID. It grants you discounts on items such as movie tickets and computers. The discounts are especially advantageous when it comes to traveling. Amtrak and Greyhound both offer discounts for students. Even Target.com offers student discounts. Check the website for student advantage! https://www.studentadvantage.com/discountcard/

I hope this helped a bit! Every little helps and it does add up!

A Long-Distance Valentine’s Day

Long-distance relationships can be tough in general, trust me, I’ve been in one for nearly 5 years now, with a rough time difference. On Valentine’s Day, for some people the strain can be felt the most. I’m not one to celebrate this day, but since it is approaching, some couples will be forced to share the romance from miles away, and I’d love to give some ideas! Each relationship and situation is of course different, but the key to success is effort.

1. Candlelight Skype dinner date –> Instead of a normal Skype session, both of you can cook the same meal and then have a virtual dinner date, or breakfast, depending on your time difference. You can even watch one of your favourite shows! To make it even more of a Valentine’s day, make an effort to dress up too.

2. Hide gifts & love notes in their room –> If they have a roommate, have them hide the gifts in your partner’s room when they are not around. Anyone can mail packages but I think this is a unique way to do so. My boyfriend did this; he got my housemate to hide little notes and gifts in my room for me to find, and it was the cutest thing ever because each gift and note I found was a surprise. If they don’t have a housemate, hide the presents before you leave them! Maybe give clues to make it into a scavenger hunt!

3. Spend all night talking –> One of my favourite things is pillow talk! It takes my mind off being lonely and stressed. If you run out of things to talk about, why not ask them 100 questions?! This link will make it easy to bring up questions you may have wanted to ask, but were always afraid too!

4. Good morning video –> Make a little video for your love to wake up to on Valentine’s morning. Everyone loves good morning texts, but why not send a video on this day instead?

5. Game night –> Pick a game you both like to play; there are many online games on this website to check out.

6. Surprise visit –> If you are lucky enough to drop everything and book a flight, I recommend doing this at least once in your life! It’s 100% the best gift one can receive.

Get a Free Starbucks Drink Monthly!

image.jpeg

This post is for every coffee lover ♥ Why wait for a free drink only on your birthday when it can be every 18 days?!!?

How: Sign up on bingrewards.com for free, and search the web on Bing until you get the min amount of credits to redeem, which takes ~18 days for me.

There is a max limit of searches you can do a day, some from your phone, and some from your laptop.

After half a month or so depending on how often you search every day, you can redeem your points and get a $5 giftcard to Starbucks, and even others like Amazon, Macys and Sephora.

$5 may not seem like a lot, but if you save up, every little helps!

Go treat yourself!!

(This works for people in the USA, not sure about the rest of the world – I know that the UK doesn’t offer this though!)
